Test the Printer
After installation, print a test page to verify that your printer is functioning correctly.
Step 1: Unbox and Prepare Your Printer
- Carefully remove the printer and all included accessories from the box.
- Remove all protective packaging materials, tapes, and covers.
- Place the printer on a flat, stable surface near your computer or Wi-Fi router.
- Connect the power cable directly to a wall outlet and turn on the printer.
- Allow the printer to complete its initial startup and alignment process.
If the printer does not power on, verify that the power cable is securely connected to both the printer and the wall outlet. For initial setup, avoid using extension cords or surge protectors.
Step 2: Download the Latest Printer Software
- Visit the official printer support website or use the installation CD (if provided).
- Download the most recent driver and setup utility compatible with your operating system (Windows or macOS).
- Save the file to a known location, such as your Desktop or Downloads folder.
If the download fails, confirm your internet connection and temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software that may be blocking the download.
Step 3: Connect Your Printer
- Option A: USB Connection
- Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
- Wait for your system to recognize the printer automatically.
- Option B: Wireless Connection
- Access Wi-Fi Setup or Network Settings from the printer’s control panel.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- Confirm the connection using on-screen prompts or indicator lights.
Step 4: Install the Printer Drivers
- Open the downloaded setup file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Select your preferred connection method (USB or Wireless).
- Allow the software to detect and configure your printer automatically.
- Complete the installation and restart your computer if prompted.
If the printer is not detected, try a different USB port or cable, and temporarily disable background security software during installation.
Step 5: Print a Test Page
- Open your computer’s printer settings and select Print Test Page.
- Verify that the page prints clearly and aligns correctly without errors.
If the test page does not print, ensure the correct printer is selected and that ink or toner cartridges are properly installed.
Step 6: Set Default Printer Preferences
- Open Printers & Scanners from your computer settings.
- Set your new printer as the default printer.
- Adjust preferences such as paper size, print quality, and orientation as needed.
